July Wrap Up!

Happy Friday bookish people! I hope you’re all having a great day today.

July is at an end and I think it is safe to say that it was my best month for reading so far this year, both in the amount of books and my enjoyment of those books.

So, my July TBR, technically I didn’t finish it because I didn’t read the exact books I put on it BUT I did read a bunch of books so I read more books than I put on my TBR so I am going to count that as finishing it.

This was my TBR:

Book Lovers by Emily Henry

I did not read this book, it was actually in the pile for me to read next, to break up some of the mysteries I have been reading like a palate cleanser, but I didn’t get around to it.

The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley

I am currently reading this book and I have three days left of the month so I am optimistic that I will finish this book by the end of July.

A Feather So Black by Lyra Selene

I did not read this book, I didn’t even think about it this month so hopefully I will get to it soon but that time is not yet.

The Whispering Dark by Kelly Andrews

I was excited about this book but as with A Feather So Black I haven’t been drawn to fantasy at the moment so I didn’t get around to it.

The Jewelled Moth by Katherine Woodfine

I did read this book, it is the second in the series and actually I enjoyed it more than the first book.

Outside of my TBR I have also read: I finished Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood, The King’s Mother by Annie Garthwaite (the best book I have read so far this year!), The Suspect by Rob Rinder, The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz, Queen Macbeth by Val Mcdermid, and I started Seven Likely Suspects by Katy Watson as well.

So in July I read 8 books this month! I am very happy with that amount. How has your reading been this month? Any great books?

July TBR!

Happy Friday bookish people! How are you all today? I hope you are all doing well.

July is a busy, busy month for me so I am hoping that I will be able to get a lot of reading done. I am having an operation on the 15th which means that I will not be able to do much for at least a week or so other than read which sounds perfect to me. Then at the end of July I am going to Carlisle for the weekend and in the back of the car I will be able to read as well so hopefully I read some great books, fingers crossed for some five star reads!

What are you excited to read in July?

My July TBR:

Hunting Party by Lucy Foley

Book Lovers by Emily Henry

The Whispering Dark by Kelly Andrews

A Feather so Black by Lyra Selene

The Jeweled Moth by Katharine Woodfine

On top of this though I have a list of books I would like to read while recovering and travelling because I am optimistic that I will get lots of reading done in July:

  • The Murder Game by Tom Hindle
  • The King’s Mother by Annie Garthwaite
  • Seven Lively Suspects by Katy Watson
  • The Suspect by Rob Rinder
  • The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz
  • Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross
  • The Five by Haille Rubenhold
  • Hex Appeal by Kate Johnson

February Wrap Up!

Happy Tuesday bookish people! It is already the end of February so of course it is time to do this month’s wrap up.

I had a much better reading month than in January, I have been finding that I am enjoying it more. Whether that is because of the books I have been reading or just because February was a relaxed month (in comparison to January that is).

So, onto the wrap up!

Sense and Second Degree Murder by Tirzah Price – I did not read this one – it is one of those books where I really want to read it too much that I am scared to read it

Murder at the house on the hill by Victoria Walters – I did not read this book

Winterhouse by Ben Guterson – I did not read this

The Accidental Medium by Tracy Whitwell – I did read this well, currently I am reading this but it will be finished by the end of the month

Everyone in my family has killed someone by Benjamin Stevenson – I did not read this

Mysteries of Thorn Manor by Margaret Rogerson – I did read this and spoiler alert, LOVED it.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor – I did not read this

Murder Most Unladylike by Robin Stevens – I did read this

The Stolen Heir by Holly Black – I did not read this

Book Lovers by Emily Henry – I did not read this

Murder on the Christmas Express by Alexandra Benedict – I did not read this

The very secret society of irregular witches – I did read this (my favourite book this month)

June Wrap up!

Happy Friday bookish people! It is the first of July, we are starting the summer with an okay month of reading. I didn’t read as much in June as I thought I would, other things just kept getting on top of me and I was struggling a little bit with how much there was that had to get done immediately. Anyway, June was still good. I managed to read a few books, I went to Belgium and back in a weekend, and I had my first meeting with a potential guide dog and if you want to read about this I will be posting on Friday’s throughout July about what it has been like going through the guide dog process. But we are here today to see what I read in June so let’s get into the wrap up.

  • Uprooted by Naomi Novik – I did not read. I wasn’t really feeling much fantasy this month.
  • Mad Woman by Louisa Treger – I did read this! I was kindly sent a copy of this book by the author and I have posted my review of this book already, probably my favourite read of June
  • The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake – I did not read this
  • Hot Dog Girl by Jennifer Dugan – I am currently reading this book, a few pages before I go to bed each night
  • Ariadne by Jennifer Saint – I did not read this
  • Nine Lives by Peter Swanson – I did not read this
  • Lockwood and Co by Jonathan Stroud – Another book I am currently in the middle of reading
  • A Darker Shade of Magic graphic novel 1 – I did read this
  • Finlay Donovan Knocks Em Dead by Elle cosimano – I did not read this
  • A Lesson in Vengeance by Victoria Lee – I did not read this
  • A Darker Shade of Magic graphic novel 2 – I did read this
  • The Lamplighters by Emma Stonex – I did not read this
  • Book Lovers by Emily Henry – I did not read this
  • Beggars Abbey by V L Valentine – I did not read this
  • The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi – I did not read this
  • Lore by Alexandra Bracken – I did not read this
  • Stay Sweet by Siobhan Vivian – I did not read this

So from my TBR I read 3 books and I am in the middle of two, which I should finish before the end of June. Outside of my TBR I also read the third A Darker Shade of magic graphic novel so altogether I read 6 books which isn’t too bad.

That’s it for this month’s wrap up, I hope you all enjoyed it! What did you all read in June?

June TBR!

Happy Thursday bookish people! Today I am bringing you my TBR for June. This month there is a month long readathon created by Maddie at BookBrowsingBlogs on Youtube, the readathon is called whateveryouwantathon and there are four different teams with dome different prompts. I am following the prompts of the Sunset Scholars.

My June TBR:

  • A book featuring dragons: I chose Uprooted by Naomi Novik, I don’t think I have any books with actual dragons in – except for Lord of the Rings – but from what I remember of the synopsis this book has a character called the dragon.
  • Red on the cover: I chose Mad Woman by Louisa Treger
  • Host Fave: I chose The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake
  • Less Read genre: I chose Hot Dog Girl by Jennifer Dugan
  • Shiny Cover – I chose Ariadne by Jennifer Saint
  • Previous TBR: Nine Lives by Peter Swanson
  • The/An/Of/A/And: Lockwood and Co by Jonathan Stroud
  • Under 300 pages: I chose the first graphic novel for A Darker Shade of Magic
  • Continue a series: Finlay Donovan Knocks ’em Dead by Elle Cosimano
  • Academia: A Lesson in Vengeance by Victoria Lee
  • 2021 release: I chose The Lamplighters by Emma Stonex
  • A different format: I chose the second A Darker Shade of Magic graphic novel
  • Book about Books: I chose Book Lovers by Emily Henry
  • Recently Hauled: I chose Beggars Abbey by V L Valentine
  • Favourite Genre (Fantasy!): I chose The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi
  • One word title: I chose Lore by Alexandra Bracken
  • S’s on cover: I chose Stay Sweet by Siobhan Vivian

There are also a few prompts that are things like cozy reading time and complete a personal reading goal which I didn’t put in the list because they can be completed with any of the books.

That’s it for my June TBR, I hope you all enjoyed it! What are you reading in June?
